Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol | Reviewed |

Over the years having seen numerous action flicks you can always predict fast paced car chases, explosions and stylish sequences, gun fights and more. Ghost Protocol pretty much delivers all that, though some parts are very unrealistic and the only thing that limits you from liking it could be your imagination.

I won't reveal much about the plot, but the basic story is that the Russian Kremlin is blown up by a terrorist group and the IMF including its agents Ethan Hunt and his team are framed for it. This results in the American President to initiate the Ghost Protocol that disavows the IMF and all its agents, so Ethan Hunt and his group are left all alone to themselves. As the tag line goes "No Plan, No Backup, No Choice"

The story spans across three countries Russia, UAE and India, which follows Ethan hunt and the other agents as they fight the terrorist group and Russian Intelligence in order to prove their innocence and prevent a Nuclear war from taking place. The story is well written and is enough to keep the viewer interested. I was a bit disappointed with the action sequences depicted in the movie. Some scenes such as the Sand Storm in Dubai or the explosion in Kremlin looked absolutely unreal and almost funny. Also the fight scenes are made as if  Tom Cruise is invincible even if he falls off from a building. Other than these the film is good enough to keep you seated on the edge of your seat.

Simon Pegg does a good job being the goofy agent among them and Paula Patton and Jeremy Renner also gave good performances. The best part of the movie according to me is the infiltration of the Kremlin done in a very intelligent way and the action sequence in Dubai where Tom Cruise jumps off the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world is also breathtaking. The Mumbai scenes are also nicely presented.

Overall the movie is very likable and I enjoyed it. I'd give it a 10 but it loses some points for unrealistic CGI animation and some silly loopholes.
